Anniversary Message

Dear A/PGF Members and Friends,

We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the oldest organizations formed to serve Los Angeles gay Asian community.  On this special year, I call to congratulate and to thank you for your suppor and for being a part of this community.

As always, we’ll be saying Happy New Year to you two more times: Chinese New Year in February and Thai New Year in April. We also look forward to welcoming you to other fun and joyous events throughout the year. Providing friendly and interactive atmosphere for the activities that you are accustomed to as well as trying new things are our goal.

Celebrating organization’s historical and ongoing service to the community and acknowledging contributions to it by other great groups, I call to think how we can further serve the community on this anniversary year.

I will bring some ideas about expanding our events and programs to the Board of Directors and consider new ones. Other active members plan to do the same. Just as our fun events become only greater with good attendance and extra pair of helping hands, so our community life will be enriched with everyone’s enthusiastic involvement to whatever degree they can spare. Information will circulate at our events and on line. I strongly encourage members to participate in the Board meetings when they can. We would be delighted to hear from you. Please send us suggestions and feedback. We’ll give them all due attention and follow-up.

Tak Yamamoto, organization’s member No. 1, considered it the place where his brothers could reveal themselves heart-to-heart.  With shifting challenges and opportunities to gay Asians and their friends over time, A/PGF is committed to continue providing vibrant and engaging atmosphere for all of you.

Let’s have an uplifted and meaningful anniversary year. We shall celebrate it well among ourselves and bring it to larger community’s attention.

Sincerely,

Rokas Oginskis
President
