IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING IFCON ORLANDO & IFCON TORONTO
The IFCON ORLANDO Organizing Committee together with The IFCON TORONTO Organizing Committee and in conjunction with the IFA Leadership Team have worked together to provide you the following update:
IFCON ORLANDO 2020 will not be held this year. We believe that it is in the best interest of our member’s health and safety to POSTPONE this year’s event. Working jointly with the TORONTO Organizing Committee the following new timelines are announced:
IFCON ORLANDO will now be planned as IFCON 2021 ORLANDO! The new dates will be Sept. 3 – 6, 2021. Here will be some commonly asked questions and answers:
Will there be an IFCON in 2020?
No, due to the current pandemic there will be no IFCON in 2020.
I paid for IFCON 2020. What happens to my conference payment?
Your conference payment will be maintained and you are now registered for IFCON ORLANDO 2021!
I am not able to attend IFCON ORLANDO 2021! Can I get my registration fee returned?
Yes (minus $10 per person PayPal fees). Please send an email to fred.harrity@gmail.com BEFORE December 1, 2020 for details.
I would like to attend IFCON ORLANDO 2021. May I register?
GREAT to hear! You may register at the discounted conference price of $260 per person through December 31, 2020. If you wait until after December 31, 2020 to book the conference rate will go up to $300. After March 31, 2021 the conference rate will be $325. No reservations will be accepted after July 31, 2021. You may make a new reservation at IFCON2020.org.
I made a hotel registration and paid the 1st night deposit. What will happen to my hotel deposit?
The HILTON Orlando Lake Buena Vista – Disney Springs Area is currently in the process of cancelling all room reservations for our event and will automatically refund your deposit to you. You do not need to call the hotel to cancel. As the hotel completes the cancellation process you should expect to receive your deposit within 7-10 business days.
Am I able to make a new hotel reservation for IFCON 2021?
The Hotel will open room reservations for IFCON ORLANDO 2021 beginning September 15, 2020. The Hilton has guaranteed the same room rate of $119.00 per night for next year.
I made and paid for travel arrangements. What do I need to do to cancel?
YOU must contact your travel carrier and cancel/rebook your travel plans.
I am planning to travel to Orlando this Labor Day weekend anyway. Will the Hilton honor the conference discounted room rate for me?
The HILTON is currently running a variety of special rates and offers. You should contact the Hilton to see what rate is available. If there is not a special offer for you then the Hilton will honor the room rate of $119 per night
IFCON 2022 TORONTO is being planned for September 2 – 5, 2022. The organizing committee has secured the Marriott Resort in Toronto, just steps from the gay village area. They are excited about this event and will be releasing more information as the event gets closer.
Both the ORLANDO 2021 and TORONTO 2022 organizing committees would like to thank our respective resorts for their cooperation in accommodating our events and for considering the safety of our members. We are also grateful to the IFA Leadership for their continued support and advice. Above all we want to thank all of you, our members, for your patience and support as we maneuver through this difficult time.
As we move forward you can expect two great events and both organizing committees are looking forward to hosting you. In the meantime, please stay safe.
